The coins were issued during the reign of Khengarji III one of the longest serving rulers anywhere, and George V the British Emperor. This was a common feature in coins of Kutch after 1858 the name of the local ruler on the front and the British emperor on the reverse. All the 4 coins of the set carry the date 1985
